The Board of Directors is the Governing body of a club. A club depends on its board of directors for long-term guidance, leadership, and policy-making. Each member of the board plays an important role in ensuring that the club continues to thrive and meet the needs of its members. The board is responsible for the enactment of regulations (bylaws, rules, resolutions) to ensure club policies align with align with the clubs mission. Other areas the board oversees is the financial and legal responsibilities it has to its members.

Describe a typical board structure and how it governs the club.

Discuss some problems that might occur if a club’s board of directors is too big or too small.

Identify typical topics covered in a club’s bylaws.
